Sandra Jensen was born in South Africa but left as a child and now juggles three passports. She has had a number of flash fiction and short story publications in literary magazines including AGNI, Sou'Wester and Word Riot. She recently won the 2012 bosque Fiction Prize and was awarded Highly Commended for the 2012 Bridport Prize. She received a professional writer's grant from the Canada Council for the Arts as well as a literature bursary from the Arts Council of Ireland to work on her first novel, a literary adventure set in war-torn Sri Lanka. The novel won the 2011 J.G. Farrell award for best novel-in-progress. Sandra was a participant in the 2011 and the 2012 Sirenland writers conference in Positano, Italy, and was a guest writer at the 12th International Conference on the Short Story in English, Little Rock, Arkansas. She currently lives in Ireland with her husband and her cat and, when not feeding husband or cat or battling the elements, she toils away on her novel. You can find her at www.sandrajensen.net.
