CHRISTIANE ALSOP

Christiane Alsop's essay "Presumed Guilty" first appeared in slightly different form in the Briar Cliff Review 2005, and it was named a Notable Essay in The Best American Essays, 2006. She has published numerous articles and books on Cultural Psychology. She is a regular contributor to the blog Beyond the Margins, a sounding board for published writers. Her novel The Ideology of Love is currently under agent consideration. Christiane is originally from Germany, an experience with creative consequences for her subject matter (Nazis, academics, and terrorists). Before becoming a writer, she sold books, nursed psychiatric patients, and taught psychology and ethnography at universities in Germany and New England. She lives north of Boston with her husband and son.
